Similar to a deep breath you\u2019d take during physical stress (exercise), you can do the same with mental\/emotional stress.<\/p>\n<p>\n<strong>2) Talk It Out<\/strong><br \/>\nReach out to a close friend or family member and get things off your chest, even if they\u2019re just a listening ear without any input. It\u2019s not healthy to bottle things up. You need some kind of an outlet.<\/p>\n<p>\n<strong>3) Exercise<\/strong><br \/>\nWorking out can increase your \u201cfeel good\u201d hormone production, which reduces stress. A highly intense workout can help release negative energy, while a causal walk can give you some mental clarity.<\/p>\n<p>\n<strong>4) Laugh! And Do It Often<\/strong><br \/>\nLaughing can help lower cortisol (stress hormone) levels.<\/p>\n<p>\n<strong>5) Listen to Music<\/strong><br \/>\nThis can be ANY GENRE YOU LOVE! Don\u2019t let people tell you that your \u201cangry\u201d music will make you angrier. (I hear this a lot and it drives me crazy.) If you love heavy metal, then listen to heavy metal. If you love country, listen to country.  Personally, when I\u2019m having a bad day, Five Finger Death Punch\u2019s \u201cUnder and Over It\u201d does the trick.<\/p>\n<p>\n<strong>6) Face the Fact That You Can\u2019t Control Everything<\/strong><br \/>\nSometimes you just have to walk away and move on from a situation because no matter how hard you try, you won\u2019t be able to change the outcome. There\u2019s no use in stressing about it, especially if you know you tried to handle it as best you could. You can\u2019t change people, and you can\u2019t help those who don\u2019t want to be helped.
