By practicing and focusing on these techniques, you can change your whole mindset, which sets in motion the events for the day.<br \/>\n<strong>Walking<br \/>\n<\/strong><br \/>\nKeep your walking in line with your breathing. As you inhale, lift your foot. As you exhale, lower your foot. It\u2019ll take a little bit of practice, but soon you\u2019ll start doing it without having to think about every step.<br \/>\n<strong>Breathing<br \/>\n<\/strong><br \/>\nSit in a relaxed position (typically in an upright chair or with your back straight). Your eyes can be opened or closed, then really just focus on each inhale and exhale. Your mind may wander during this time. If it does, that\u2019s ok. When you notice it, simply refocus your breathing and start over.<br \/>\n<strong>Eating<br \/>\n<\/strong><br \/>\nTake your time and savor each bite. Turn off distractions to avoid mindless eating. No multi-tasking, no standing. Sit and really focus on the meal in front of you.<br \/>\n<strong>Attitude<br \/>\n<\/strong><br \/>\nBe nonjudgmental, and wait until your mind is clear before making a critical decision. The easiest way to break a promise is to make a promise when you\u2019re overly happy. The worst time to react to a situation is when you\u2019re at your most heated state. So many ugly situations could be avoided by allowing a few minutes or even hours to pass before reacting. It is also important to speak up. Again, many relationships end due to words left unspoken.
