We love our furballs as if they were our own children, and take care of them as such (just ask Zoey Dolce!). Below are some homemade dog food recipes your dogs will drool over! These recipes avoid all the unnecessary additives and preservatives that tend to be found in a lot of manufactured, dried dog foods.

K-9 Kidney Bean & Carrot Bits<\/h3>\n

Ingredients
\n\u2022\t2 \u00bd pounds ground beef
\n\u2022\t1 \u00bd cups brown rice
\n\u2022\t1 (15-ounce) can kidney beans, drained and rinsed
\n\u2022\t1 \u00bd cups butternut squash, chopped
\n\u2022\t1 \u00bd cups carrots, chopped
\n\u2022\t\u00bd cup peas
\nDirections
\n1.\tStir in ground beef, brown rice, kidney beans, butternut squash, carrots, peas and 4 cups water into a 6 quart slow cooker.
\n2.\tCover and cook on low for 5-6 hours or high for 2-3 hours, stirring as needed.
\n3.\tLet cool completely.

Ingredients
\n\u2022\t3 lbs. ground chicken
\n\u2022\t2 cups brown rice
\n\u2022\t8 oz. green beans
\n\u2022\t8 oz. carrots, chopped

\n\u2022\t2\/3 cups water
\nDirections
\n1.\tAdd all ingredients to slow cooker and set on low for 5-6 hours.
\n2.\tMash with potato masher

\n\u2022\t4 chicken breasts
\n\u2022\t\u00bd cup of green beans, chopped

\n\u2022\t\u00bd cup rolled oats
\n\u2022\t\u00bd apple, peeled and chopped (optional)
