Here is an easy way to figure it out based on the sticker label that is on produce, if the item isn&#8217;t already clearly marked.<\/p>\n<blockquote><p>\nStarts with a 4 = conventionally grown<br \/>\nStarts with an 8 = genetically modified<br \/>\nStarts with a 9 = organic<\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p>With this information in mind, be sure to stick to the rules of the Dirty Dozen and Clean 15 when picking up your produce. The Dirty Dozen (highest in pesticides) should always be purchased organic, while the Clean 15 (lowest in pesticides) can be purchased as conventionally grown. And always stay away from GMO whenever possible.<\/p>\n<h3>The Dirty Dozen<\/h3>\n<p>1.      Apples<br \/>\n2.      Celery<br \/>\n3.      Sweet bell peppers<br \/>\n4.      Peaches<br \/>\n5.      Strawberries<br \/>\n6.      Nectarines (imported)<br \/>\n7.      Grapes<br \/>\n8.      Spinach<br \/>\n9.      Lettuce<br \/>\n10.    Cucumbers<br \/>\n11.    Blueberries (domestic)<br \/>\n12.    Potatoes<br \/>\n*Kale and green beans were added to this list in 2012<\/p>\n<h3>The Clean 15<\/h3>\n<p>1.      Onions<br \/>\n2.      Sweet corn<br \/>\n3.      Pineapples<br \/>\n4.      Avocado<br \/>\n5.      Cabbage<br \/>\n6.      Sweet peas<br \/>\n7.      Asparagus<br \/>\n8.      Mangoes<br \/>\n9.      Eggplant<br \/>\n10.    Kiwi<br \/>\n11.
